Lenin

A Russian Jew was finally allowed to emigrate to Israel.

At Moscow airport, customs found a Lenin statue in his baggage and asked, “What is this?”

The man replied, “What is this? Wrong question comrade. You should have asked : Who is he? This is Comrade Lenin. He laid the foundations of socialism and created the future and prosperity of the Russian people. I am taking it with me as a memory of our dear hero.”

The Russian customs officer let him go without further inspection.

At Tel Aviv airport, the Israeli customs officer also asked our friend, “What is this?”

He replied, “What is this? Wrong question, Sir. You should be asking, ‘Who is this?’ This is Lenin, the bastard who caused me, a Jew, to leave Russia. I take this statue with me so I can curse him every day.”

The Israeli customs officer said, “I apologize, Sir, you are cleared to go”

Settling into his new house, he put the statue on a table. To celebrate his immigration, he invited his friends and relatives to dinner.

One of his friends asked, “Who is this?”

He replied, “My dear friend, ‘Who is this’ is a wrong question. You should have asked, What is this?

This is ten kilograms of solid gold that I managed to bring with me without paying any customs duty and tax.”

MORAL Of The Story :-

You can tell the same shit in different ways to fool a different audience, and no one knows your real intention when they are caught up with your story.

What Women Wants

Seven (7) doors to her heart.

Some say five (5).

There had been disputes concerning ways to win a women to your side.

Here’s mine.

Attention

Attention is being aware of others, besides ourselves, and being the focus of someone’s loving attention. Every woman needs someone who is there to listen to their deepest feelings and needs, and understands her intentions, and fears. Every woman needs that kind of attention to thrive, to be the best they can be. It shows that you care and want her to be around.

Admiration

Admiration is why she grooms herself daily and spends substantial time and savings on skin care and clothes, to look magical to you. When she is constantly admired, she can feel your undivided presence which affirms her self worth, boosts her esteem, and gives her self confidence. It allays her fears and insecurity and warms herself up to you.

Acceptance

In order to be intimate, woman needs to feel safe, accepted, relaxed, and worthy. Trying to challenge her good sense, oppose or challenge her, will not win you love, respect, or understanding. If you accept her for who she is, it means that you are seeing the truth in her within your relationship. That will calm her and give her a sense of stability and safety. It makes her feel homey as she welcomes you into her life and her inner thoughts.

Appreciation

Appreciating her efforts makes her feel good about herself and increases the chances of her love connection with you. Showing her gratitude and validating her efforts reinforces your good relationship. That she knows she can be of help in times of need and contribute to your well being. Women cares when they are in love. Not knowing when to reciprocate her thoughtfulness by showing her appreciation makes her feel rejected.

Affection

As humans, we all need emotional, spiritual and physical affection. It requires some direct behaviors that show us the proof of these things. Affection is often a code word for sex but oftentimes, there can be sex just by being attentive, unexpectedly hugging her from behind, showering her with surprise gifts, sending note cards, dropping her a line when you are busy, these are some keys that makes her feel wanted.

Allowing

Allowing means letting her be who she is, and not trying to control her, change her, cage her, or force her into a mould she finds irrational, intolerable or humiliating. Allowing is the essence of unconditional love. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t set limits in your relationship with her. You can. But setting limits is done to protect your relationship and yourself; whereas controlling is making her do what you want. Acceptance doesn’t make sense without allowing.

Affirmation

Affirming is to express agreement with, or commitment to uphold and support her thoughts and ideas, or her words or actions. To agree or concur with her gives her the emotional support and encouragement she needs, that what she does is all correct.

I stand open to be corrected. But try not to be abusive with your language.

Overcoming Grief

Grief is a state of loss. An emotional upheaval that one feels beit over a divorce, loss of job, death of a loved one. It manifests in 7 stages, some experts argued 5- but it all depends on our equilibrium, our attachment to that party, the circumstances that brought about the loss, and the severity inflicted by the tragedy. The various stages are sequential but rubbery, with no affixed period, and an aggrieved party may sail across, mixing up or skipping some stages in between, and recover in no time at all. The 7 stages are: shock and denial, pain and guilt, anger and bargaining, depression, upward turn, reconstruction and working through, and finally, acceptance. But to ride through grief, one must know firstly how grief happens.

Religion has been the pinnacle of mankind. It is responsible for our lifestyle, the constant unrest between nations, civic consciousness, moral conduct and governance. It shapes us to become who and what we are today. However, what most people overlooked is the well known mantra of ‘Giving more so that one could receive.’ An extreme example would be “If anyone slaps you on your right cheek, offer him your left also.” Deep, mysterious parable that is. But a powerful one. That is another topic of discussion altogether.

Giving is an act of love, and giving begins with one being emphatic, generous, happy, caring, or simply, being dutiful. No one will give to their enemies where love doesn’t co-exist. And the more you love someone, the more you will give.

But taking or receiving is inevitable. Taking begins with the suckling of our mothers breasts, till one receives education, and finally when one is fit to take on the world. That dependence comes from one’s natural parents, guardians or sponsors. It is this constant state of receiving that one can mistakenly inherit the dogma of entitlement, thus quite often, a receiver will never know when to give back. Even after they grow into successful adults. Sometimes they defer their plans, others went chasing after rainbows. As a result, their caregivers are neglected because giving is not reciprocated. Until that fateful moment of loss arrives.

The receiver is then confronted with guilt, regret, denial , blaming oneself, the “ifs” I were to do this and that, the longing to do more which they did not initiate when their loved ones is still alive, because there exists an imbalance between giving and receiving. If one would have given enough or more than one receives, grief is short lived. But that is a natural frailty of man. To put off affirmations, praises, visits, giving of gifts. All these can be taught, but never will they ever be fully executed.

But managing grief is entirely different. The rites encountered in certain religions helps the aggrieved to let go. They are the hidden gems subtly designed with human emotions in mind. This if one could afford to, a full rite is better than half-baked ones. The action of burning incense is letting go, the serving of meals and drinks and the giving away of sweets to well wishers is letting go, the throwing of gluttonous rice, the offering of candles, the placing of wreathes and flowers on the casket, the singing of hymns, the shouting of mantras, the placing of bones into urns, throwing flowers into the pit, these rituals were all designed with giving in mind. If one couldn’t afford to, the giving away of the deceased possessions to the poor and underprivileged is another way of letting go. And when one gives, one will gradually let go. And the more one let go, the natural progression lightens our heart to recovery.

So it is right to say that hidden beneath all religions, beit right or wrong, our forefathers whom has designed all these sacred rites and mantras had us in mind. To help us heal.

Something Deadlier?

This Pandemic is mild. Its death rate, tiny. But it spreads quick, and its effects on our lungs, can lead to disastrous complications. Because of that, earthlings began to observe newer habits, just to avoid contacting it. Still, there are many superheroes out there whose ears still hear nothing, and their freedom, not negotiable. If the world could come together, and endure a 30 days total lockdown in every corner of our world , something like an ‘Earth Hour’, can we overcome the problems all at once? Let’s named it ‘COVID 30’. But can UN unite with WHO and world leaders to have an EGM to agree on this common fight? And stop the fattening of wallets of hand sanitizers and face mask producers so we could unmask ourselves again?

Let us imagine, what if something deadlier is concocted into our atmosphere in the near future, whilst this pandemic remains. But one that is not as easily shirked off. Isn’t that a confirmation that biological and chemical warfare is out there blooming now? With viruses coded to attack specifically only on the organs it was programmed or designed to attack?

Because of that, scientists should focus on developing tablets or aerosol sprays that when consumed or applied, seeps into our skin and forms a protective sheen rather than wasting enormous budgets on developing defence and iron domes that can only deflect weapons, but still renders humanoids helpless to vulnerable chemicals and viruses? Wouldn’t that be better than zipping ourselves in two inches thick suits when the real defence is only concentrated between our noses, eyes, mouth and our skin?

Think about it.

Normalcy to return?

“It is coming to year end.

What most businesses anticipated, that normalcy will return, is clinging on to false hope. Except for businesses that deals with essentials, rental demands cannot cope with the rate of drop in sales, with most abandoning ship to cut losses, many resorting to online platforms. Thus landlords suffer and so are the lenders. That became the new norm. But can those in the non essential businesses, from f&b to travel, to accommodation, to sports, to ego pleasing and the pleasure industry, and many more survives this?

The sad truth is that the new normal already seeped into our lives long ago, when men went a-chasing for success and power, through greed and negligence. And forces the world to its knees, like an injured boxer, succumbing blow after blow, to its slip shot policies thus, the fatal knocks of 911, SARS, Fukushima, and now Covid-19. Where-forth thou is love, kindness, generosity, righteousness, goodness and empathy if one may ask?

They are at the ringside babe! They are at the ringside! Helping the boxer regain his strength with momentous fixes, while praying he will last till the end- instead of succumbing to a knockout…”

Banksy or Wanky

“There must be an assigned proprietor for a trademark to be endorsed. Whether your pseudonym is Banksy or Wanky, indeed no one knows if you are a groupie, an institution or a delusional whacko. But since you can craft your fame holding onto a mysterious identity, then, you’d surely know how to wiggle your trademark across in other ways.

If the British can glamorise Spice Girls, James Bond and Jaime Oliver, surely you are of no sweat to them. “

Etiquette versus Moral Studies

“I think moral studies and religion as a subject taught in schools should be abandoned, with social etiquette classes taking centrestage. Personal grooming, deportment, good housekeeping, mannerism and conduct will ensure decency, cleanliness and social comfort at all times. Whilst understanding customs and traditions of other races will benefit harmony better.”

Sexual Promiscuity and the Internet

“I think the internet has taken sexual promiscuity to a much higher level. The age of gigolos and mama-sans has succumbed to this almost invisible jackpot showcase that churns millions of assorted humanoids shifting through your screen like oranges falling from the sky within just a few clicks, without you making any raunchy effort to hide your ogle. It is a personal shopping experience of the most luscious level gushing across your iris and you don’t need to be at your personal best to connect.

In the midst of it all, it has also created scoundrels out of men of all shapes and sizes, colours, belief and status. Man that you thought was decent but mischievously deceptive, as they hunt for elixir outside the boundaries of their marital union, and many who hid their sexual innuendos in the pretext of scavenging for a healthy melty relationship. Surprisingly, these are the same people who wedge themselves comfortably in between genuine singles who do not lie nor deceive.

But why does the most successful decent looking husband with a loving wife and children would want to risk it all if one may ask? And successful smart woman were also being cheated everyday?

I think that nomadically, men has always been the hunter gatherer and because of that, the chase has always interest and excite them. What more the triumph and satisfaction of bringing their prized catch back home. Hence their uncontrollable fetish to hunt for flowers of the prettiest bloom.

I think ego and affirmation comes in close second, after years of being deduced from his stigmata of knighthood and gallantry, to that of a janitor and repairman by their partners.

Away from this league are those with uncontrollable urges for coitus, not like they have genuine worries of any kind, nor their egos bruised, the consequence of being side stepped by their partners expectations.

So, how women pick out these pearls from a cache full of peanuts is where relationship coaches took the first big bite out of dimwits, and the scammers who comes in a close second, happily fattening their wallets playing casanovas to these lonely hearts. For those who pays thousands of dollars for advice, still, not all are lucky. Many are still cheated by decent looking men, whilst the rest are still crowding around their personal computers.

But right now, one thing is for certain. As connectivity improves, the inbox will ring nonstop, thus, it is almost certain that women of today are getting much more adoration, admiration and attention than those living in the bygone era. It is abundance with a capital ‘A’ and no longer a ‘you dump me I have no one else to choose from’ game. Some has their ego hitting the roof that their once placid connectivity is now an oasis flustered with high quality lingeries waiting to line their wardrobes on their upcoming birthdays.

So what does this do to the world?

Well, it certainly gave the words lies, betrayal and deceit a proper place in the dictionary of discreet with lawyers busily wrangling for amicable settlements the world over. It has also become the number one avenue where women cheats. But somehow, women show more success in discreet whereas to the men, many got slapped.

And got slapped hard! “

Believe and Trust

One has to believe in a person before you can trust them. You can’t say I believe you, but I don’t trust you. Neither is it right to say that I trusted you, but I don’t believe you. That kind of statement is purely unacceptable.

Scrape Defence Budget

“Why keep the defence ministry when a single virus released through the air can be directed to attack a certain organ, a certain cell, or a certain age group? All your gallant decorations, fighter jets, guns and fighting men is altogether redundant when every soldier has to worry for himself than others he is fighting with. This world has changed. And every country running on a tight budget will now have a breather if defence budget is scraped.”

Burnt Sand

The seabirds have flown

The grasses have turned brown

What are we but burnt sand

If hearts that bind no longer shine

But wilt in the golden meadow.

Sin Free?

~For Christians Only~

When Jesus say “if your eyes had cause you to sin, pluck it out”, what he meant was exactly what he says. That the mere act of oogling at a man or women with lust, harbouring the desire to act on it or to fantasise or imagine lewd scenes is enough to make you a sinner. Never mind if you stay faithful to your legitimate companion till your golden years or beyond. Otherwise He could just ask you to wash your eyes, drip some eye solution and you are back to normal, instead of plucking them out. And he meant both eyes because no one pair of eyes can focus on two things at the same time. Not unless you are squint-eyed.

Thus the act of refraining yourself from being physical with somebody who is not your spouse does not warrant you the coveted trophy of being ‘sin free’. And sin is not exclusive of the flesh. It might win you praises from both your wife or your in laws or the general public but not He who owns the heavenly kingdom. And He did not specify the age that one should not ogle thus you can still be a sinner when you are a teenager or stay unmarried.

In other words, no one can claim themselves to be sin free. And lust is but one of the seven sins beside greed, gluttony, pride, anger, vanity and laziness. And acknowledging yourself to be sinful is to recognise that one essential trait which makes us human, the consolation is that if you believe in Him, ‘he will absolve you from your sins for as long as you acknowledge and admit to your weakness’. His role is similar to that of your parents who pardons you from the mistakes you made.

If you cannot understand this simple verse, please stop being a Christian. Being in denial of this simple teaching is planting doubt and corrupting your own mind. Creating your own interpretation is pride and vanity, two forms of sin.

Having said this, I welcome you back to this world as a human, I appreciate everyone’s effort for trying to be godly or god like, but stop celebrating outward physical faithfulness as an achievement. The propensity of behaving ugly is a prerequisite of the human make you are. All men are born sinners as St Paul says. Never more true.”

Live Matters No Matter the Colour

Black lives matter I know, but so are other colors. It might be trendy that when one person dims the light in support of the other, and others follow, let It not be a sinister plot against your arch enemy, or follow moody trends just because you want to feel accepted . Let it genuinely be that you are outrage and demur violence against mankind, no matter what color they are. Polarization is at its worse when race becomes the main coterie, but it is not as worst as having blind supporters who cheer for no good reason. Perhaps it is opportune and timely that more discourse should happen to iron out man’s folly. But not within the four walls of deceit, of treachery, suppression or selfish motives. Truth lies within your own heart. Ending racism is about removing suspicion and creating trust . Without that, merely looking beyond colours is certainly not good enough. Dimming the light without discouraging marginalization and you are just a blady fool that became a tool for those who doesn’t fully understand the values of our ubiquitous existence.

Queer Normalcy

“The MCO is almost over. And life will soon be back to pretty normal. Like we didn’t learn a thing or two about intimacy or the lack thereof. I am overwhelmed to be able to piece all the loose ends together and set out to do things city life could not afford for the longest of time and for the life of me. I see happy faces, and sad psychiatric patterns forming in some people that I know. I see that men could thrive in smaller congested spaces.

But has men not learnt anything from it other than gazing into blank walls or scrutinizing insects and faulty lock sets in greater detail? Have we outlived our families and yearn for the mortal cagelessness? Or are we mortified by the revetments plaguing our lonelier nights?

Will digitizing help men whom are truly social creatures to sustain their liveability rather than wrecking their puny skulls and be more creative than just abuse a tool which had been there for decades and serves a purpose to only things that doesn’t need oral assessment? Have we lived the entire quarantine in anticipation of our queer normalcy?

Did we not learn something from it?

The streets are now screaming for a change of pace, and a change in how our lives operate. Not succumbing back to traffic jams, and be proud of the everyday reporting. And how about the groupings that many wanted to form but now evaporates into thinner air? Whereforth thou is men’s conviction rather than unto themselves that others need to suffer in their hands?

I wilt as a single leaf on a tree that thrives only with sun and rain but knows not what pruning will maketh a healthier more desirable growth. I crave to wake up not in suspense but to be confronted by our inner yearnings for truth, but not deceit. We need to recalibrate. We have to. For whatever normalcy means.”

Why Doctors When God Heals?

All over the world, clusters of people still crowds carnivals and annual events. When asked, most of them thought it their RIGHT, and owe it to FATE, if ever they contacted the virus. So should our national healthcare includes and provide for individuals such as these who still persist, not that they are ignorant or misinformed? And how should they treat individuals who thought it is the governments duty to make them well, if they fall ill, straining hospital capacities like it’s their inheritance and entitlement?

Around the world, every individual and government is now tested. Because in every country, there are bound to be individuals who thought they are invincible by gravitating towards God’s healing power, or the protective gear they slipped on, bought through the internet, or, the age old potion or amulet their community reveres to. In some religions, laities were made to believe there is no purpose for God if obeisance is lacking. There are those who thought because everyone is quarantined, the streets are therefore safer than their own homes. Then, there are also those whom are used to outdoors. As for the rests, the condition of their houses does not warrant it to be called home.

The believe in culture and traditions is imbued on many since young, thus the believe in old wive’s tale, superstition and concoctions hence, the potions made of gall bladders and animal bones. And if that doesn’t work, most likely, these traditionalist would either owe its failure to the wrath of god or the severity of the illness, or fate. To convince individuals such as these to consult doctors is a menacing affair. The natural tendency of people to cower themselves with assurances, safety and security makes them susceptible to advertising gimmicks thus the tendency to buy and believe in protective gears. And when those products fail, they will resort to the next good buy, again through online or through their friends recommendation. For those who stray from quarantine, some were used to the outdoors so their urge for a breather is a must. For as long as their mind reassures them that the streets are safe, since no one is out on the streets, so would they stray wherever their mind, body and soul wonders to. And there are those whose home are too pigeonholed to warrant a lengthy quarantine. They are the most pitiful.

But perhaps, the most challenging to convince are those who thought themselves as invincible when cloaked with the armour of God whom believe that without their total submission, their belief would be compromised. That is most unfortunate.

Believers must be made aware and understand the manifestation of spirit and why God, gave a different purpose to each one of us depending on our capability thus, the doctors, the scientists, the researchers, engineers, architects, chefs, artists and cleaners etc. For its only within that scope of understanding can one understand the need to rely on his healing through the people he commissioned and commands because to each, He gave a purpose in life. Everyone serves God in the humblest of ways He wanted us to. There are those whom he gave wisdom, another the gift of knowledge, to others, the gift of healing and to the rest, prophecy and etc. We must also accept the fact that every person who has ever been healed by God in some way or another, will die existentially. With this understanding in mind, we should now know that to each and everyone of us, God gave a gift in this life because it fulfills a need and purpose to this world we live in. Together, we make and heal the world. And to each one of us, whether we believe in God or not, be convinced that death is for sure certain. That is His plan and His grace.

When sin entered the world as a serpent to tempt Adam through Eve, it is certain that everyone throughout their lifetime will experience futility, rejection and pain, and eventually die. As any mother would experience the pangs of childbirth, the experience is not of condemnation, but of purification and joy. Therefore, disease and sickness are occasionally inflicted upon people as a purifying and rescuing judgment. In other words, an act of mercy. And if one can be so bold to say, God sometimes uses disease to bring particular judgments upon those who reject him and give themselves over to sin. Thus, all natural disasters albeit flood or famine, tsunami or disease — are a call to people to repent and realign their lives.

There are many ways God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work through all of us and manifests his Spirit upon us that each one of us may work his own salvation, therefore his many gifts. Thus, to believe that God could cloak and heal you is certain, but what he cloaks away are your fears and the perception of death as punitive. But you must also rely and depend on his fruits that he gifted you wholeheartedly through the hands of others He commands, that you may be relieved of your anguish, pain, suffering and concerns. That is the reason why we should all trust doctors despite our faith background. For those who are adamant, if you like to interpret it in another way, doctors help and relieve you from your pain, suffering, grief and sickness, whilst your God heals you.

Eventually the country with the firmest of regulation and strictest of implementation will win the fight against the virus. But that also depends on the loyalty and respect the citizens have towards the government of the day, whereas obedience and the quality of training and discipline plays a part, afforded by both parents and their school teachers when young. If individuals are used to orders, so will they understand and adhere when orders are imposed. For if they are not, it will be difficult to clamp them down not unless the firmest of regulation and harshest of penalty are imposed.

Not far from it is how people should be convinced the role doctors act in the healing mystery of God. Because without that understanding, those that leaves their health to fate is courting unnecessary danger and in the process, promote more harm than good to the community they live with. That becomes an irresponsibility which is a sin. Because sin is what you do that causes inconvenience to others. One must not be ignorant. We all need doctors, even when God heals.

Chuckles in the Midst of Revetment

Never in the history of our country has our people ever been so spruced up, spanky and clean! In another 18 days, we’d all be fairer skinned, slimmer and possibly more self absorbed. We’d also probably lost track of our goals and ambitions after the constant attack on detergents, shampoos, sanitizers and the heart to heart talk with our plants, fridge and coffee maker. We would have probably got used to the simpler necessities of life.

The immobilization and cranky solitude will make an imprint on us all, as we furrow our existence – being conscious about our day to day living, and waking up to visions of a cleaner sky, sea, land, trees, roads, tomorrow and of submerged silence. We will become more acutely aware of the people we come into contact with, giving up of handshakes for namaste, and segregating what matters and what can wait. And the immaterial from the material.

Our mind travels. We now relate ourselves to the animals in captivity at the Zoos, looking out from their cages day in, day out. And the fishes talking to their own reflection inside glass tanks. And we relate ourselves to the people anguished inside the atrocities of war with nothing to look forward to.

But as we all tone down and the world mellows in quivering spin, the smog that curtains our garden now clears. In its rare silence, we can relax to the chirping of birds and distinguish pure decibels once subdued by the noises infused by the mass honking of vehicles. We can rejoice to the depletion of aerosolic dust that once capped our lungs.

We are now more intelligent.

More critically aware of hygiene because we saw through human susceptibility and the mass pillage of undeserving corpses worldwide.

The earth now heals slowly as man dislodges their daily activities, gives up their wants for needs, and continue to prioritize what used to fashion us to the brink of despair.

After a further 18 days of revetment, we could all pat our own backs and be proud.

Think about how much more you will know about your partner, and the smell of jasmine tea. Some will break down, some eventually loses their minds. Some found new ways to dry their clothes and some, would crawl under their beds to sleep. And some would have turned philosophers, amid the chuckles from infants that warms our hope.

Next Adam

I remembered leaving only soil inside my pots and out shoots new plants. For those whom are concern about the extinction of mankind, I beg to differ. Given the right soil, sunlight and water, evolution again will begin. After our earth heals.

And when that happens, I’d like to be the next Adam. Scaring myself to death when the wind wails, thunder calls, darkness fell and dinosaurs appearing unexpectedly when I poop. That’s far more exciting than wearing face masks!

And I’d like to have Eve by my side. Maybe Eve should come before me. She can set up the fire and find a shelter and probably invent soap and shampoo. Can’t do without them. Then make a bed and cook. Life I think is sweeter with Eve around.

Everyone needs an Eve!

Pandemic

“A pandemic this nasty humbles us, if I may be so bold to say, it is an awakening.

Mankind must readily recognize the signs of times and acknowledge our frailty in the face of a calamity this worrying and learn to be humble and meek. Our grey cells if not guarded is capable of being imaginative to the point of being dangerous. But if we can subdue our conscience and submit our inventiveness to wisdom, so can we foresee the consequences when our inventions are abused by the mischief and those greedy for control. And draw the line.

Can we overcome this?

Science has gone beyond the limits of protection it can afford humans because of each individuals ambition when smarter earthlings should lay waste more time and energy to help manage the evil existing inside us from frequently manifesting.

In most cases, money is the root of all evil. Stirred by passion.

We should by now, lay down our hostility, our enmity and even out all animosity that ever exist. Between man and man, brothers and brothers, enemies and enemies. As we reconcile, so then shall we deserve to bask in glory under God’s light.

Before it is to late for us to even breathe.”

Resourceful Idling

Two weeks are hell of a long for those who sits there idling with their phones prying on anything and everything except doing something worthwhile and truly meaningful. I’m not saying you can’t but for the constructive, this is a welcomed opportune. That could mean a moment spent with their loved ones to catch up on things that they never have time to because of work commitments, even just to hold hands and look upon each other fondly whilst counting the stars. There are those whose two weeks brings fulfillment in learning ~ to learn a song they have always wanted to, or even to learn a new recipe! There’re those who catches up on their reading, tidy up loose bills or redesign their business module based on the unfortunate developments. These are some of the exciting things one could do instead of poking fun at the ( I know I know! Unfortunately, they deserved all the darts!) shallow thinking authorities who spends more time calling for press conferences than going down to the ground.

For when the evil winds doth blow, there too are the imaginative who spends their time tweaking their funny brains whose eyes could only foresee baby boomers! For they are the ones who bring humor to the next level. In the midst there too are the wicked who discredits their competitors by posting fake news, reports, images, videos. There are also the paranoids, who spent hours blaming everyone else except he himself for hoarding tons of face masks whilst counting the rise in cases.

We all can be productive with our time. Or we can be negative staying lazy, sloppy and tardy throughout. It’s our choice. But try not to be a beacon of evil. Everyone is trying their best to stay afloat. A month without school and laying idle is only ok for those not facing exams. For the clever, it’s two weeks of undistracted revision time.

“Be vigilant and humanity shall shine. Be good so others can respect you.”

Write a poem, learn a song, cross-stich a cardigan , play with your child, clean your house! There are many other beautiful meaningful things you and I can do. Stare at your plants, look at the clouds, paint a picture! Count the grains of rice. Trail the ants! This world belongs to you and me!

A new world deprived of vanity pots who spends more time posting their selfie than helping old people cross the road! As if only they matter!

It’s a crazy world and it gets crazier by the day!

Whatever you do, try not to talk to yourself! Cos only the distracted does that!

Years ago, the restricted movement act were designed for belligerents. Today, it is applied to us. It says so much of our human race. Why? This world is a sad place. So don’t make it more sad! Help cheer the world up by being constructive instead of being grumpy! And don’t walk around asinine when clear instructions have been made.

If all your neighbors die, you die. Simple as that.

As you spring clean your home, spring clean also, your mind and fill it with hope and joy! Each of us is responsible for our own fate. You can watch a movie to entertain yourself whilst other watches a movie not only to entertain themselves, there’s a story they could learn from it. Train your mind to scale the heights!

But as the streets empty from the order with faint recollections of a once socially pleasant life, make the effort to glorify the nation and help eliminate the virus by social distancing. If not, we can only reminisce our laughter on haunted passsgeways if you and I do not confront the truth and share the pain.

Pylons

“All kinds of viruses are floating in the air which makes one ill, some suffers immeasurably and the unlucky one, dies.

Not only Covid-19.

Perhaps it’s high time massive pylons of air purifiers are erected worldwide to clean and clear the air of unwarranted pollutants and harmful contents.

I know that is a tall order. What more, it won’t augur well with the sustainability of massive pharmaceutical companies. But the over dependence on medication and it’s supply has driven some countries and its citizens to madness!

Some parts of China already has them. But their functions right now, is to filter smog. We should seriously consider the possibility for the transfer of technology to happen.

I am imagining a new world order where the scientists and researchers of these large pharmaceutical concerns spends more time focusing on eliminating common, not only rare diseases like cancer, completely, including if possible, aging, that has plagued us for centuries.”

Meeting Personalities

There wasn’t any objection from the rest of the committee members after the matter was raised up by someone who merely exercises his rights to his opinions. If there were, I am sure the presiding secretary who controls the meeting would have put it to a vote beit a secret ballot or by show of hands.

In every committee there are bound to be sitting ducks. Types of committee members most frequently encountered are:

1. Those compelled by higher authority to be their eyes and ears

2. Those who exploit or abuses their own authority riding on the position

3. Those with vested or self interest and talks only when their personal interest is ignored or infringed

4. Those who wants to milk the institution

5. Those who wants first hand information on the going-ons so they could plan their on-goings

6. Those who uses this channel as a backdoor for political mileages , recognition, awards and rewards. The so-called megalomaniacs

7. Those who are real sitting ducks not ready to take on any responsibility or be of service to the institution they sometimes even forget their own name when called

8. Those programmed to gain. By selling. Beit their own collection, artists, artworks, shows, information, backside or to curry favor.

To get those who are genuinely there to look after the objective, interest and correct running of the institution and contribute to their progress are rare.

Self sacrificing individuals such as these are few and far in between. The question that beckons now is which individual or party controls the vetting process and what are their set vetting standards? And why are the presiding secretary so submissive to individual complaints which should by right after the artworks are installed and exhibited, be sent in through a suggestion/feedback form stating the grounds for complaint rather than be raised as a matter in meeting agendas or in ‘Any Other Business?’ Was it raised in ‘Any Other Business?’ And are there suggestion/feedback forms?

No one knows. No one thought it important.

Compel

Buddhism doesn’t compel. It seeks only to inform. That doing good brings much reward. Nirvana, rebirth, generational blessings, it enables followers to earn merits for the repentance of their sin. So followers flood homes of slighted individuals, infirmaries and the underprivileged, soup kitchens and help diffuse suffering. Day in day out. My dad used to comb seven temples every year during CNY without fail, then gave alms to the poor who lined the gangways. We as childrens help distribute the Ang Pows.

And what do Christians do? Trying to be holier than thou, grimacing that they are more wounded than Christ on the cross, scorning drunkards and driving beggars away from church grounds, bargaining salvation to those with hungry stomachs in exchange for food, going gaga over parish elders, deacons and pastors, praying for more blessings for themselves. Don’t get me wrong . I believe in Christ. But not the laities who kept the altar to themselves. Maybe all the altars should be removed since their understanding is so lowly.
