a lifetime

perhaps you should know

that I love you more than

a lifetime

of seeing each other

of coping with each other

and learning from each other

it really took me a lifetime to find you

and somehow

I just know that

it will take me a lifetime

to get over you

if you go..

  1. For some, love cuts deep,
    leaving ages to weep,
As the heart begins to heal,
    there’s another love so real,
    Deep, rich, and sublime,
    Existing in that same lifetime.

    Poem on.

  2. this is a heartfelt piece fiveloaf. I especially liked the second part- “it really took me a lifetime to find you….it will take me a lifetime to get over you if you go”- nice touch. Bravo!

    2. reading your offering is an education. very clever use of simple words but profound and deep in meaning. Clearly a balance of affections to despair. Excellent!
