I watched that dew
streaming off the leaf
onto my fingertip
.
I watched that dew
streaming off my fingertip
into the pond
.
it fascinates me
to watch it drip
as its ripple sparkles the water
.
but I can’t hold it..

Very beautiful. xoxx
tq desiree..
Is it about something that is better to let go?
The dot=the pause between stanzas… those are great in building the mood…
This poem definitely makes me wondering… 🙂
its difficult to tell you how i feel. i can only express it in poems..
something very zen-like in this piece. i like it.
tq siubhan
Your words are so profound. Sometimes all we can do is watch and enjoy even though we cannot have what we see. Great poem!

just awesome kris.
you are now my no. 1 fan trish..
Beautiful verses.. Bringing out what could not be held… what needs to go in the flow of life.. I don’t know but I could relate it to something such as perception in love as well as when certain issues close to heart but yet it cannot be hold..
Nice write.. emotional.. 🙂
Thanks for stopping and yeah, am glad that I am remembered.. 🙂
thanks krislin for your comments..
That’s cool
It sort out builds a mood of losing something…which sparkles some other…
tq hema..
I LOVE how this poem makes me feel! it’s simply amazing 🙂
tq sina.. 🙂
Like this poem a lot. Very interesting use of the 3 line style and the constant drip of the one dot between them. Leading to a very calm mental picture as the 3 dots dripping at the end are like the drips being squeezed out from the first three verses. Clever.
– Brian.
thank you brian..
hmmm .. very serene ,, i imagined myself there and i smiled 🙂
thanks lady..
Ah, but you DID hold it, if only for a moment! 😉 This was an excellent captured moment, fiveloaf. I agree that there is something very zen-like about it – perhaps the association with water droplets and ripple effects, etc. 🙂
thanks dragon..
i loved it..letting go is sumtin hard..

a poem about it is of the best honor to the dew.

superb entry.
Happy Rally.

thanks ji..
Beautiful
thanks my friend at the ranch..
So that is where poignancy meets reality! Excellent poem; to say so much in so few words so clearly is an accomplishment in it’s own right. Duder, I’m jealous, that was an amazing exposition of one of lifes ‘small’ events writ large. Best I’ve read so far today.
crb.
thanks my friend- you write well too!
It’s good to let go! Let it fly free.

tq recluse.. 🙂
ohhh thats beautiful Kris..simple yet a beautiful imagery created 😀
thanks meg the cheeky blogger haha!
The essence of what makes beauty beauty…release and not clutching. Clutching makes for a cheapened pseudo-possession…no? Whereas beauty may be ephemeral but true.
Thanks for sharing this poem.
thanks notatamelion
So simple, so nice!
tq ina..
A delicate, beautiful thing is the dew–one of the many things that maybe we are to just admire and not try to “have”.
I like this thought, Kris.
thanks gayle..
Lovely piece, I always enjoy your poetry.

Simple and lovely and true. Well done.
thanks gwenyth..
The great thing about poetry is that every reader interprets it differently, according to his or her own personal experiences. Thanks for sharing; I enjoyed the beauty of this single moment you portrayed so delicately 🙂
thanks linn..
very nice. reading your poem feels like watching drops of water fall. very soothing if we can just let it be and not try to possess.

thanks tasi..
So much of what is captivating simply cannot be held, contained.
thanks kim..
Much like a moment, we can’t hold on to things we want to cherish. Sad but true, yet all the more beautiful. Thought provoking poem.
thanks brain of betty..
Sometimes I feel as if I am walking between raindrops. Moving between dimensions, Aware of the everyday world but not of it at the moment. It is a very special time, hauntingly beautiful as your poem tells so well. Hard to describe these moments for others as we each experience them differently. Your poem does it well. Thank you!
BTW, I like when people put their link on their comments to me as it makes it much easier to get to their blog. My computer is very slow and not having to look for their link saves me a lot of waiting time. Hugs, pat

tq belfast..
Very few words, but absolutely thought provoking. Makes me think that sometimes it is better to just observe beauty and not try to possess it.
you do have a point torque..
I don’t know, but this makes me sad. Its like something you want so desperately that not for anything you can hold on to-yet its so beautiful…
you are the only one who read my mind on this one..
loved every bit of the poem 🙂

So much in life we have to enjoy and let go of. Just the way it is.
Well done, Kris!
thanks jamie..
It´s pretty horrible when you can´t hold the things that fascinate you… but in some way, that´s exactly what makes them so special, having to let them go.
tq lu ann..
I like the effective way you reflect transience. Beauty is in the sparkling moments
